As you’re walking or driving in the neighborhood, you may have noticed some neighbor children playing, who look like they might have been born in another country. Chances are good, they were.

Skip-A-Long Child Development Services’ Home Child Care Network is now offering free services to license-exempt home child care providers through a program called SAIL Into Quality. License-exempt providers are friends and family who provide care in their home and do not have a child care license. License-Exempt providers can legally provide care for 3 or less children under the age of 12 (minus their own children) or a sibling group from a single household.

Greenbush Neighborhood’s fifth annual Trunk-or-Treat was held on Friday, October 31st from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Traditionally, the event is held the Saturday before Halloween; however, it moved to the actual holiday since it was on a Friday. Trunk-or-treat was a huge success despite competing with children preferring traditional tricker-or-treating.

Five lucky Greenbush Neighborhood homeowners could receive up to $9,000 for home rehab. Rock Island Economic Growth Corporation (GROWTH) held the Greenbush Renewal program lottery on October 21 during the monthly Greenbush Neighbors meeting.
